While appreciating the strengths 和 needs of all students, Student Accessibility Support seeks to promote the growth of undergraduate 和 graduate students through individual connections, campus-wide initiatives 和 collaboration with others in the Br和eis community.
Accommodations at Br和eis
A reasonable accommodation can be an added support, the removal of a barrier, an adjustment to a policy, or other modification of materials, 实践, 和空间.
Accommodations are designed to support equal access for people with disabilities/medical conditions. Requests for accommodations that would fundamentally alter the nature of a course, 赋值, 经验, 等., or would result in an "undue hardship" as defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act may not be considered reasonable 和 may not be approved.
Depending on the nature of the disability 和 the particular needs of the student, students may utilize a variety of supports. These can include, but are not limited to:
- Academic accommodations (e.g., classroom accommodations, testing accommodations, physical accommodations, alt-format materials).
- Auxiliary aids 和 services (e.g., note takers, CART services, lecture recordings).
- Non-academic accommodations (e.g., 住房, 饮食 和 parking 和 Accessible Transportation Service).
